There was an series about Machinima in the german online magazine telepolis. It's only available in german, but I copied all the links from the article and the end of this posting.

"Aaron Funk (aka Venetian Snares) hails from Winnipeg. Since his debut 12-inch in 1999 on a small Minneapolis label, he has risen from the breakcore underground to become one of the most astonishing (and popular) musicians working in the experimental electronic sphere (alongside Squarepusher, Aphex Twin and Boards Of Canada). Each new album from Funk brings with it a new sound, a new atmosphere, a whole new world--he always avoids repeating what's come before." More info @ allmusic.com
I thought that is allready known by eryone, but no one is doing it, not even blog.largeheartedboy.com !!!
Usually, to be able to read articles from the NY Times, you need to be registrated. Which means, I have to go through an annoying process before I can read the article.
But !!!! there is a workaround. NO registration is required, if you are using the links provided by GOOGLE News. Instead of linking to the article directly (which only redistrated people can read), spend another minute at GOOGLE, go to the advanced news search, restrict your search to the New York Times and search for the headline of the article you would like to link.
By following the link provided by GOOGLE, no registration is needed.
"Arturo en el Barco is the musical output of Angélica Negrón , a young composer from San Juan, Puerto Rico. Angelica is interested in creating electro-acoustic soundscapes that resemble sad tunes floating in a land where sadness is non existent. She is inspired by the works of Gyorgy Ligeti, Stephen Scott, Pauline Oliveros and Erik Satie, and by the music of Tujiko Noriko, Bjork, Piana and Aroah, among others. In this project, Angélica also works with José A. Olivares who is a member of Balún and Los Nervios. “Music for Students” is entirely built out of pianos, strings, kids, clicks, noises, found sounds and confused flutes. This release is a collection of stories about students that never grew up. "

can be downloaded at Ubu.com : "Starting in the early sixties, Fluxus followed in the footsteps of the Futurist and Dada avant-gardes, going against the established grain of Fine Art and Official Art and promoting imposture as an aesthetic dimension.
Fluxus interdisciplinary aesthetic brings together influences as diverse as Zen, science, and daily life and puts them to poetic use. Initially received as little more than an international network of pranksters, the playful artists of Fluxus were, and remain, a network of radical visionaries who sought to reconcile art with life."
alls angehender arbeitsloser Ingenieur muss man jeden Cent sparen.

JAY HAZE is the darling of the german bible for electronic music: de:bug magazine. I read the story about the eminem of electronic music today on the train, when I arrived at home in the evening, I checked my emails and discovered via the kitty-yo newsletter, that they are offering two free mp3 files ! What a great coincidence!
It took me only a few seconds to realise, that I can't stand it !!!! I don't know what I was expecting, but I was realy disapointed. But that's only me and maybe you think his music is the best since sliced bread:
From the kitty-yo webpage:
Jay Haze aka The Architect and The Dub Surgeon has released on various labels. He runs the netlabel Textone, Contexterrior and Futuredub and worked with Mikael Stavöstrand (Mitek) and Richard Villalobos among many others.
Disquiet.com recommends a netlabel: "Yes, there's a new netlabel, and it's something of an instant favorite. Noisejihad Live!, at noisejihad.dk/netlabel, posts live recordings of noise acts (no surprise there), and it's already released three sets this year: Massaccesi and Pol Mod Pol; Ryfylke and Danny KreutzFeldt; and Mag Necro and Ultimate Combat Noise. The tracks are lengthy and sizable (one is nearly an hour, at 50 megabytes), and it'll take a while to work through 'em, but it doesn't hurt to start off with the most recent: Kyoto, Japan-based Mag Necro's half-hour guitar performance, a suffering soundscape of improvisatory edgework. Drenched in gloom, it's a fine example of the axiom that the difference between noise and ambient music is often just a matter of where you set the volume level." Read more

Kammerflimmer Kollektief began as the one-man experimental excursions of Thomas Weber. Trapping ambient noise, live and synthetic drums, guitars, strings, upright bass and keyboards into interlocking rhythmic explosions, Weber expanded the group to a live six piece in 1999 and has been brilliant and busy ever since. From their Karlsruhe, Germany home base, this ensemble effortlessly blends experimental electronic elements and moody free-form jazz to stunning effect.
How to describe Bohren? They are jazz, they are ultra dark - but please throw away out all of your prejudices. A core band of four playing drums, bass, piano, keyboards, saxophone very slowly (in a classical framework) without any traditional jazz rhythm feelings. They are one of the most confusing and interesting groups operating today having once been a full on death metal band before some very strange metamorphosis took place. Read more
despite the fact, that this label is named after the german Artist Kurt Schwitters, member of the Dada movement and maybe the first "noise artist" , this is one of the few indie-rock netlabel. They have published only two releases yet, but they are both a good listen. Merzbau at archive.org
Mike Patton is best-known as the lead singer of Faith No More from 1988 to 1998, but has also handled lead vocals for Mr. Bungle, Tomahawk and Fantômas. He often produces side projects in collaboration with other musicians, such as John Zorn, Dan the Automator, The Melvins, Dillinger Escape Plan, Melt-Banana and many more.
Patton possesses a remarkable range of vocal textures and styles (from Sinatra-esque crooning to aggressive death metal growling), and his avant-garde leanings have earned him a large and loyal cult following.
Growing up in Eureka, California, Patton and friends formed Mr. Bungle circa 1985. They recorded a few demos and earned a small local following. Patton joined Faith No More in January of 1989 and filled the vocal void left by the unreliable and recently fired Chuck Mosley (Cement). Faith No More's The Real Thing was released later the same year. The album reached the top ten on the charts thanks largely to MTV's heavy rotation of the video for the song "Epic".
