jahtari.org: "BAUHELM is the title of our new NET-7“ number 06 coming from BO MARLEY. The ones of you who speak German will wonder at the marvellous twists and turns that beautiful tongue can take when it gets into the crazy tape loops of the BO MARLEY universe, where Dub is transmitted as voltage and Reggae roots have the form of an analogue-synth cable patch bay!" Jim Haynes, The Wire 264: "The spirit of HP Lovecraft is alive and well in Danish horror/ambient project Wäldchengarten. Electrical Bonding captures the familiar post-Industrial atmosphere of abandoned factories left to their own decay, both physically and existentially. The nihilism that these Danes express in statements in the sleevenotes about "unhealthy habits of power-supplied tubeheads with nothing better to do than sticking forks into electrical outlets" is comparatively juvenile when set against the nightmarish abyss they sculpt in their recording" Read the whole review
die-gestalten.de: "Übersee (Overseas) anything is possible and nothing as it seems. The second instalment of dgv’s very own, strictly ad-free periodical again acts as a proving ground for selected works from graphic design, illustration, photography and the arts with ample space for fringe projects, interesting snippets, indulgent spreads and radical exercises by the finest designers.
With a very loose focus on the intersection, interplay and exchange between graphic design and architecture, a bulk of the work is concerned with the properties of space. An inspired run (from urban actionism to graffiti and typography), these unusual exercises delight in tweaking the norms (from surface into space) of 2D, 3D and entirely new dimensions.
True to the maxim – anything is possible as long as its great, Übersee 2 remains a haven for the good, great and downright strange with decidedly sinister takes on nametagging, photography by Andrea Jacobi and a selection of fantastic oil paintings by Lutz Pramann." Mehr Info

Telepolis: [...]

Weiter
moonn.prv.pl: "Moonn is a drone/doom metal project from Poland.
Moonn was created at the begining of 2004 at doom-metal.com forums by Bartosz Frąckowiak (that means me - the main project member) and Małgorzata Góraj. At first it was supposed to be a joke and the project was named Moonn D))) after a drone/doom band known as Sunn O))). However after creating the first audio piece it became not just a joke but an audio project. It was called to be a tribute to Sunn O))), which was its main influence. Months passed and other pieces came. After more than a year the project renamed itself to Moonn, removing the silly and irritating "D)))" (have read lots of comments about this...). It may be still called a tribute to Sunn O))) if you like but Moonn tries to keep its own style."
Pandora, a online music sevice is fatured at Radio WNYC. After you have provided a song or an artist, pandora will play similiar music. I prefer Last FM, which offers basicly the same sevice, but has a bigger collection of artists, features and a better sound quality to offer. But on the other hand, Pandora is very easy to use.

Pandora Media introduced an online music service that creates recommended playlists based on the musical traits of users' tastes. Joining us to explain how it works is Tim Westergren, founder and chief strategy officer of Pandora Media."

wnyc.org: "In Cambridge, Massachusetts a company called E-ink is close to perfecting a great dream of the computer world — electronic ink. The firm has developed an incredibly thin portable digital display that really looks like ink on paper. The letters on E-ink's displays change as easily as those on a computer screen. Michael McCreary, the company's head of Research and Development, stopped by the studio with a prototype. " Listen here
wnyc.org: "From New Sounds Live at Merkin Hall recorded in late February 2004, Laurie Anderson performs new works for voice, violin, and keyboard. Hear her dry and witty streams of thought storytelling wend their way over alternately pulsing and thunderous keyboard programming, interspersed with violin interludes. Plus, the string quartet Ethel performs works by either John King or Todd Reynolds, and a breathtakingly melting work by Phil Kline." Listen here

On Christmas Day 2005, Derek Bailey died, aged 75, from complications arising from motor neurone disease. David Toop charts his determinedly nonidiomatic approach to guitar playing through a career that spanned television showbands backing comedians like Morecambe & Wise, the birth of European free improvisation, and the founding of the pioneering independent record label Incus. Plus, artists, colleagues and friends offer their personal tributes to one of free music's most enduring, radical figures" Read the whole piece
