While I was surfing the net to find MP3 files of Hrvatski (Keith Fullerton Whitman), I found lot's of reviews of Hrvatskis' last CD "Playthroughs". One described his music as minimalist ambience, not unlike a sonic equivalent of a Mark Rothko painting.
I don't know if everyone would agree about that, but a few links later, I found Whitman and his friend Greg Davis, standing in front of a painting by Mark Rothko.
I'm not sure, if it's really a Rothko picture, but it sure does look like one. Isn't that a big coinsidence ? Or maybe it isn't ? If you know more about the event, leading to Hrvatski standing in front of the painting, please leave a comment.
