Julian Cowley, The Wire 248: The music of Le Doigt De Galilee is gradual and layered. Nicholas Field builds insistently rumbling drum clouds, sustains nervy rattling strokes or scrapes metallic percussion. Jaime Fennelly adds further density with bass drum and enlivens the continuum with unassuming electronic murmurs, feedback gush and occasional penetrating shrillness.
Instrumentation and temperaments preclude smoothness, but contours and dynamics nonetheless meet and fuse in a kind of prolonged musical massage. A sexually aroused robotic figure is the pair's chosen depicted object. More Info
