I wrote an article (in german) for phlow.net, my favorite weblog. The article is about downloading streams from the internet. The thing is, streams aren't supposed to be downloaded, but If you know some little tricks and a niffty software, you can download almost everything.
I just started my own Foto weblog. I don't have a digital camera, so don't expect new ictures every, but I will scan some more pictures right now. Please feel free to write some comments on the pictures. Right now there are only some pctures of a Console concert and some "urban art" pictures.
My fotoweblog is located at: nomadsoul.fotopages.com
I just have discovered, that the Altavista music search isn't working on the "Microsoft Internetexplorer". I'm using the Firebird (Mozilla)- Browser and it's working perfectly. I will have a look in the next few days.
As you migh allready have noticed, at the top of every article, to the left of the date is a new link. This link leads to all the articles of the same topic.
For example, a link named "The WIRE 235" will lead to all the articles I wrote on artists mentioned in issue 235 !
I just added a new feature to my weblog. Now it's possible, to search for audio files, directly from this webpage. Just press the "altavista music search" link in the right coloum, just below the wire-drop-down menu.
As you may have noticed, I added a drop-down menu to the right colum. Now you can directly choose a specific WIRE issue. Don't wonder if it's disapeard. I'm still testing where to put it on this page.
First, this is not an official WIRE weblog. If there's anything you need to say directly to me, use this email adress: s.emmerlingATgmail.com
This article collects all the links to articles covering general information about this weblog.
1. What is "THE WIRE" ?
The Wire - From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
The Wire is a British avant garde music magazine. It was founded in 1982 by jazz promoter Anthony Wood and journalist Chrissie Murray, and concentrated on contemporary jazz and improvised music. From about 1990 it branched out into covering left-field rock and "post-rock" (a term coined in the pages of The Wire), hip-hop, modern classical and various forms of electronic music. It continues to cover all of these and other forms of experimental music. Read the whole entry at wikipedia.org
2. How to find only the WIRE related stuff ?
Select a specific WIRE issue by clicking on "WIRE issues" in the middle coloum. Or use the search function of this weblog, also located in the middle colum, to look for certain artists. More info here
6. Little icons
beneath every entry there are some icons. By clicking the bubble, you can leave a comment on the specific entry. By clicking the square, you can add the referring entry to your del.icio.us account. The green/blue circle will add the referring entry to stumbleupon.com
The bubble icon was designed by Mark James, it is available freely on his Webpage
